It’s fortunate when you get to do what you love: for some of us it takes a long time to figure that out or to remember what that was. When I was a kid, there was no such thing as blogging, the internet, or WordPress, and part of me is very happy I grew up running around outside and playing kick the can. But I also wrote — and came to find that I loved writing and wrote well.
But I became convinced to take a different career path and spent many of my career years as a therapist in skilled nursing facilities. But during that time I continued to occasionally write, and frequently play around with WordPress. I said that if I ever had the opportunity I would diligently pursue writing. But I was presented with the opportunity to do a web design project for a business — and loved it.
So I started doing web design in addition to writing on my own blogs and doing some freelance writing.
I live in Poulsbo, WA — a little town in western Washington State known for it’s Norwegian heritage — with one of my two young adult daughters, my husband, a Siamese cat, and a mutt. When I’m not able to travel, I like drinking coffee, reading, kayaking, hiking, studying French, and doing various household projects. I also write the blog PNW and Beyond about travel and the Pacific Northwest and Mistress of the Obvious which is still figuring out what it wants to be when it grows up.
Here are projects some recent projects..some are just personal projects, others are professional.
